Babipur - Retailer Spotlight

The Story Behind Babi Pur

The story of Babi Pur began over a decade ago in 2007. When their two girls were very small, Peter and Jolene Barton set out on a mission to provide ethical alternatives to parents looking to live a more conscious and sustainable lifestyle. The business started small, but over the past ten years has grown to be a leading retailer in natural, ethical, and sustainably-sourced products for children and their families. The loyal community that surrounds Babi Pur offers a wealth of knowledge, support and companionship to like minded parents looking to be more conscious consumers.

Jolene and Peter are dedicated to making a difference and encourage consumers to be more mindful in their product choices. They always had a passion for being more conscious as a consumer, and volunteered for the Fairtrade Foundation before starting their own business. It was important to them to understand where products came from, who made them, how they were made, and what impact they had on the environment. Babi Pur remains true to its ethos and values, and continues to support ethical and sustainable products that are environmentally friendly and free from unwanted toxins.

Babi Pur are proud of our ethos, dedicated customer service, and, especially, our community. Our amazing customers inspire us to improve in any way we can. We have won several awards for our efforts, including being shortlisted to the final five for the Observer Ethical Awards, and we were honoured to have won gold in all four categories of the Go Real Awards, for most easy to use website, most extensive range of cloth nappies, biggest social media presence, and biggest range of eco-friendly products. We won the Let Toys be Toys Best Practice award in 2014, 2015 , 2016, 2017 and 2018 which we consider a great achievement as it is something close to our hearts.

Cloth Nappies at Babi Pur

It is important to us to give back to our local community and support local people in Wales. We offer cloth nappy demonstrations, supporting people to make the choice that is right for their family. Working alongside Gwynedd Council, families in Gwynedd can access a free starter pack of nappies, to encourage new people to get into cloth. Our staff are well trained to offer support and advice on cloth nappies, in addition to wraps and slings for baby wearing advice.

We love cloth nappies at Babi Pur! Peter and Jolene used them on their own two girls and between them have a wealth of experience to offer. They strongly believe that with the correct support and advice, cloth nappies are possible for most families. This is why aftercare is so important to us, we don’t want to just sell you a product, we want you to love it. That is why we are always here to help, no matter what.

There are so many reasons to love cloth nappies, and each person’s will be different. At Babipur, environmental impact is a top priority. Disposable nappies take over 500 years to break down in landfill, so switching to cloth nappies will make a dramatic impact on the environment. Although there is an initial investment, cloth nappies can help you save money in the long run; for many families, this is a key reason.

Why Babi Pur Loves Tickle Tots

Babipur started stocking Tickle Tots in 2015. We loved their ethos and Sophia’s dedication to support families with their cloth nappy journey. It is important to us to support all kinds of businesses, and we were thrilled to be involved with Tickle Tots right from the beginning. We stock both varieties of nappies, the original and hybrid nappy, and also their wet bags. The Tickle Tots Two has been really popular with its slim fit, double gusset, and super absorbent bamboo inserts. We happily recommend Tickle Tots to our customers and are proud to support them.

A big thank you to Heather and the team at Babipur for their guest blog post for our retailer spotlight!
